The Meaning Movement has published articles for more than a decade. Some began as Dan’s own writing and interviews. We use an AI-assisted publishing system for newer work.
How we make new articles
AI does substantial work in our research and writing process. It helps us gather and compare sources, build the structure, draft, edit, and prepare each piece for publication. Our system uses separate stages to verify claims, check technical accuracy, and edit for voice. We send weak or unsupported work back for revision.
Dan Cumberland Labs takes responsibility for every article we publish here, and the byline names the person accountable for the finished piece.
What happens to older articles
Many articles began as Dan’s writing or podcast work before our current system existed. AI may help us update those pieces for clarity, structure, and current sources. The note at the bottom of each article tells you whether it came through our current publishing process or began in the archive.
How we make images
We make new featured illustrations with Ideogram using our art direction, and our team prepares them for the site. We credit those images as “The Meaning Movement with Ideogram.” Older featured images came from the site’s WordPress archive and carry an archive credit.
Sources and corrections
We link sources where they support a claim, and we correct errors when we find them.
